Cambodia Google Street view update (2022/2023)
I just noticed that Cambodia finally has updated Google Street View coverage, with new images taken in 2022 and 2023. Almost a decade after the previous pictures. Am I late to the party, or is this very recent? I can't seem to find any information about it anywhere. I haven't been to the country in ...

Re: Cambodian Song Lyrics (requests welcome)
Amazing, Jamie! I love the format of Khmer script, transcribed Khmer, then English translation. I'm not able to read Khmer script fast enough to follow the song, but it's great as a reference for proper pronunciation and to look up words in the dictionary. That last one you just translated is one of...

Re: Travel ban from midnight tonight?
within phnom penh is ok, for now how would they realistically enforce it otherwise? until the army are on every street corner Here in the Philippines they are enforcing it with military checkpoints both on city level (Metro Manila consists of many cities, guess it would be comparable to the distric...

Re: Information on Coronavirus in Cambodia from 8 March 2020 (Latest Updates)
Hi, I'm currently in the Philippines (have been for two years), so I'm not up to date with the situation in Cambodia. I heard from a good friend in Cambodia that her brother and his wife that works in the garment industry are not allowed to leave the factory (they have to live on site), and that the...

Just make sure you use the competitors and don't end up with only Grab like here in the Philippines. The prices have become absolutely mad

Re: Heavy Rain Causes Flooding in Kampot, Cambodia
No mention of the dam collapse in Kirirom with the following flash flood through the village of Chambok this morning? There were some kids missing shortly after, who had gone to the forest with their cows, but everyone are found now. https://i.imgur.com/lka5yZF.jpg https://i.imgur.com/tcI7epq.jpg ht...

Re: Meanings of place names
My favorite is Thma Bang - ថ្មបាំង.
ថ្ម (thma) means rock.
បាំង (bang) means to block / be in the way / hide / obscure view.
So it basically means it's a place where mountains are in the way. Very fitting name for a place with narrow valleys in the middle of the Cardamoms.

If explorer can't hear the different sounds in your English J examples, I seriously doubt he'll be able to hear the nuisances in the khmer sounds as well.

Re: MH370 found in Cambodian JUNGLE? "Truth-seeker" to investigate
Is the landmine situation actually that bad over there? I thought it was only the northern part of the Cardamoms toward Pursat and Pailin that was dangerous. And perhaps along the border. Anyone with some real insight?
