Re: Residency for stock traders ?

If there's a tax treaty between the EU country and the new country they're usually pretty lax, and all is fairly clear. If there's none, which is usually the case when moving to Cambodia, prepare for some serious wrestling with the bloodhounds which can take years. And don't forget the taxman has mo...

Re: Tourist Traps

Grab and Passapp tariff from the airport. I assume you're actually referring to the airport tuk-tuks/taxis...if you book via the apps and go out to the pick-up point (old airport train station - they don't let them inside now) you pay whatever the ride is worth. Usually costs me about KHR 30,000 / ...

Re: Schengen visa, (and K-visa query, and some other stuff)

I always used to buy the flight ticket for my wife when applying for Schengen, fully refundable type was the way to go. @Freightdog as above, the easiest option for sorting Schengen is the German embassy, the French one is just a diabolic mess & busy all the time from my past experience, someti...

Re: Boarding requirements flight BKK-PNH 16-03-24

It's nothing more than a Low Cost Carrier - LCC - shifting it's responsibility for returning passengers denied entry to Cambodia for any reason from the carrier, at the carrier's expense, to the passenger denied entry to Cambodia by immigration for whatever reason. The vast majority of travelers on...

Re: AirAsia Plans to Launch Low-Cost Airline in Cambodia

This info came through in the nick of time! I was just about to buy a ticket to BKK costing $55 ($7 of which is refundable for my Khmer partner) and includes baggage allowance. On arrival I'd have had to pay $1 for the 30 minute train ride into the city. But now I can get a "free" seat to...

Re: Boarding requirements flight BKK-PNH 16-03-24

That's funny. Always something new with them airlines. Last time I flew out of BKK, for the first time ever, the check-in clerk checked if I hadn't overstayed my Thai visa. I fly from Bangkok (both airports) to Phnom Penh quite often, and whether or not they ask me for my visa for Cambodia and/or a...

Re: Boarding requirements flight BKK-PNH 16-03-24

No one carries cash anymore. I certainly never do and have happily holidayed in several countries without having to handle money. Can I confidently assume the tuktuk drivers and girls I may meet in Cambodia will have personal card readers? At the check in desk they had ABA QR Codes. Probably not fo...
