Re: Need advice on buying Borei unit
One thing to consider is the ability to sell the unit. Many of the people buying in are doing so for the same reasons you mention. Financing through the builder is often easier than through the bank. So it is easier to buy a new one than a preowned one. A friend of mine is trying to sell theirs, and...

Re: Canada to Cambodia money transfer
I have used Swift to transfer from Canada to Canadia in the past. Make sure you fill out the form with the Canadia staff, as the account number in your passbook is not the complete account number. Also confirm the intermediary transfer bank every year or so, to make sure it is still the same. I was...

Re: My first solo visa run
I went to Poipet 8 months ago with a hotel booking confirmation for one night in Aranyaprathet, and was refused entry. The angry woman in the glass cage looked at the expiry date of my current visa and yelled at me for doing a visa run then refused entry. Already stamped out of Cambodia, that no man...

Re: Money Exchange
Hi Tim, Check your online banking options. I have a Scotia account and WU is built right in to the transfer services. When you WU yourself cash, make sure you write the recipients name exactly as it appears in your passport, (middle name included). Then wait an hour, head to any WU branch and pick u...

Microfinance updates?
It's been nearly a year since the microfinance rate cap went into effect. Has anyone seen a rate drop at their institution of choice since last April? Vision is the only place I've deposited outside of my bank, and I neglected to write down what other institutions were offering last year. Any proble...
