Re: New places to eat... anything?

Thanks everyone for your responses. Some of these are new to me and others are old favorites. Either way, it's great to be reminded of all the wonderful food Phnom Penh has to offer!

New places to eat... anything?

No doubt some places did not survive the past few years. But now with things looking up, are there any good new places to eat that you have come across? Khmer, Asian (yes, I know that's a broad category and includes Khmer cuisine), western (that one's pretty general too), or anything else? With or w...

The bars now

The last time I was in Phnom Penh was in early 2020. At that time people were wearing masks and I remember the hotels being somewhat cautious. So, nearly a year on, how are things? Are the bars open? How many people are out and about? The case numbers seem quite low compared to other countries. Whil...

Re: Where to go to find the girly bars in SHV / Kampot

Are there still bars at Victory Hill, Pub Street (aka Golden Lions Plaza) and Sihanoukville Square? I hope the Chinese have not bulldozed all of the fun out of Kompong Som.

In between bars

What is your favorite in between bar in Phnom Penh? Saigon has quite a few of them. They're not quite hostess bars, but the staff are noticeably friendlier, and more attractive, than the staff of your average pub. And in Saigon, it's not unusual to buy lady drinks for the staff in such establishment...

Re: Guilty pleasures.

"Glenn Campbell doesn't belong in the list! Too good! Should be horrible songs that you still can't stop yourself from liking." I guess I missed the point of this thread. In that case, how about this? Not a fan of the video, and although this is a cover of an Abba song, the music is undeni...

Re: Guilty pleasures.

This is one of the good examples of Japanese rock. They like to show off--in a good way--their musicianship. The bass comes through, as does the flange guitar. This song always stays in my head after I hear it.

Re: The Best Full English Breakfast in Cambodia...

It's not a proper English breakfast by any stretch, but I remember going to Metro on 130 a couple of times for breakfast. Tasty food and even better with a Bloody Mary.
