But what about land borders with Thailand? All land border entry points into Cambodia are closed to foreigners, only Cambodian Nationals are permitted to enter through land borders. I brought mine over from Vietnam about a year ago, and rode it quite a lot in Phnom Penh over the course of four months or so, in particular from the Russian Market area to the Riverside. Never stopped.

Can you live in Vung Tau and enjoy a decent bit of privacy? Ideally I'd like to find an unserviced private apartment that doesn't have someone watching the door all the time. Saigon was a place I enjoyed in the past, but the level of surveillance you'd be under in your own home was overkill.

I have Cellcard and Metfone in my dual sim phone. While I find Cellcard around Phnom Penh is the fastest in most places, and often much faster, Metfone is better from my apartment. Might be worth trying both and picking a winner.
