He was a thoroughly decent guy. Spoke native level Khmer and not far off native level Chinese. He even spoke good English for a Northerner. A very sad time for his family whom he clearly loved very much.

I spent four hours at the airport the other day for unlucky reasons. I also very much got the feeling the OP did. It’s clear the Chinese numbers are up but is there any data on other foreigners. It certainly ‘feels’ like it’s down this year.

^^^ what he said. They really are shocking. I have queried some Khmer’s about it and the only line they give me is the spin they have heard that it is ‘waterproof’ paper. My answer that the old licences were waterproof anyway gets met with a vacant stare.
