Re: Return v. One-Way Airfares
From my current location I can take one direct regional flight to PNH which would cost about 3x the price of a SGN or 2X of a BKK ticket. As I dont need visa for Vietnam and can do some shopping and other stuff in HCMC or BKK, it is a good option for me. Time is not a real issue. Long distance fligh...

Re: Return v. One-Way Airfares
I prefer tickets to SGN and then take the scenic overland trip. It might cost me an extra 6-7 hrs plus 14 USD but the savings as compared to PNH tickets are substantial. Take a van to the border, cross, SUV to PNH. No lines at the border unless you happen to meet a busload. I also use SGN as a hub,...

Re: whats going on with Cambodian forums?
What about Mindanao ... the bad part ... Abu Sayyaf country. I haven't spent much time in the Philippines, but I got a sense it had an undercurrent of lawlessness and (what the Brasilians call) malandragem when I visited Pampanga about 8 years ago, and there were places in Metro Manila I was advise...

Re: Return v. One-Way Airfares
on short routes the point to point carriers/no frills airlines have changed the market rules. Return fares on the long routes with full service arilines still cost much less than two one-way tickets. I hope we will live to the time where I can buy a one way ticket at a reasonable cost on the long r...

Re: Regional Leaders Propose Seamless Tourism for Thailand, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia
What happens to the 2 land-entries per year rule in Thailand? Could be maintained, I guess. What about the onward ticket rules in Vietnam and Thailand? Countries within the zone would disqualify but there is still Malaysia and Singapore for less expensive option and Indonesia and Phils for a bit mor...

Re: Anyone Else Been Seemingly Scammed by Andrea Dumont & Sky Pratt in Cambodia?
This reminds me of something else I see a lot on ‘the socials’* people who buy something face to face and then post they were scammed because they found it didn’t work. Then when called out for not taking responsibility and checking before buying they respond that others should behave with integrit...

Re: bkk travel/transit
Good policy to get the day before to Lad Krabang. Many hotels provide a shuttle service, both pick-up and drop-off 24/7. A place in eastern Lad Krabang might be better as the noise from planes is considerably less. If you travel overland, take the bus from the border to Chaosengsao and then from the...

Thanks for taking the time and keeping us very up to date. The 45 days visa waiver is already a big thing.

Re: David's Noodle
My noodle joints are or were all past Monivong in the Vietnamese areas parallel. I walked by David's many times but the tourist crowd and the advertising was a turn off. Also, hand-pulled noodles are not that rare in PP. Looking at the Pho I can see what you mean when you write about the broth. I'll...

Re: Scammed at Larry’s Bar
Read your own lines and try to make sense of your nonsense. 1. "I wasn't disparaging Hanno" 2. "I was saying, none of us know" 3. (false claim) "Except you; gaslighting goose." You veiled your attack on Hanno because you do know that your standing and credibility is not...
