Re: Farewell to an Era: Phnom Penh International Airport Set to Shut Down to Make Way for New Airport Next Year

By the way, Vinci has commenced construction on the new SHV airport terminal this month. The groundwork actually began two years ago, but now there are workers actively involved in the construction once more. Re: Farewell to an Era: Phnom Penh International Airport Set to Shut Down to Make Way for New Airport Next Year

Perhaps you could have enough space for next 10 years if you would use the army land as well, but then you would have even bigger traffic problem on Russian boulevard in your hands with twice the trucks and passengers travelling on the Russian boulevard. It is already awful during peak hours. And t...

Re: Farewell to an Era: Phnom Penh International Airport Set to Shut Down to Make Way for New Airport Next Year

Anyway, it's all moot now, we are going to be stuck with the new one. At least we will be out of there in the same time as the old one, because it will attract precisely 0 new travellers. The hour journey to get into town, and the cost, is what will grate. Takes me an hour to go to the old airport ...

Thailand's regional airports

https://www.bangkokpost.com/opinion/opinion/2779755/airport-flops-prove-dreamers-wrong A good article showing how many airports in Thailand either have no commercial flights or are loss-making. And describing how local politicians pressure the center to build them. It seems that without tourist dema...

Re: AirAsia Plans to Launch Low-Cost Airline in Cambodia

Looking at the Air Asia website today for flights from Siem Reap to PP, there are free (actually $27) one way flights available on nearly every day from the off (2 May) except for a few of the earliest days. From 31 July, the service ceases to be daily, according to the booking page. The "free&...

Re: Happy Songkran 2024

Wealthy Khmer loved New Year in PP. They didn't go to Wat Phnom because they needed tp cruise around in their new Ford Raptors armed with 100 liter water tanks and the very latest in powerful water guns and eye protection. The plebs three to a moto with cheap guns that they had to stop to refill did...

Re: Farewell to an Era: Phnom Penh International Airport Set to Shut Down to Make Way for New Airport Next Year

Just immagine Cambodia in 2024 with NO new recent aiports. None of the old airports would be near max capacity. Billions could have been better spent. Those mega project just create huge corruption I guess covid was not foreseen. What airport was running near max capacity before covid hit? Probably...

Re: Change Thai baht to USD. Change in Thailand or at the airport PP?

hello everyone, thank you for the valuable tips! I already arrive in PP with an eVisa. I need USD to pay for my taxi. The next day I go to Call Kim for the annual pensioner visa, because she is highly praised here in the forum. For her, of course, I also need USD for her services. Except I can also...

If you come from airport, and you have PASSapp installed already, go straight to corner 136 and 53 street, you can ask a ride with an extra stop on the Pass-app. On he corner is WOORI-bank, (used to be ABA) next door on 136 (going east) is a gold/exchange seller named KHAY SAKHAV. Come there for ye...
