Re: Riverside/Freelancers dangers?
Ten years ago the cops slept under a tree in front of Ekamei bus station, waking up for each bus arrival from Pattaya and then search all the falang for enhancers. Hefty fines handed out.
All you had to was exit the bus station by the NW side to avoid them.

Re: Riverside/Freelancers dangers?

Thanks Off topic, but I'm really curious ..... Really? Is it really that extreme? Did it happen to you, or do you have some stories? Unbelievabl...

Re: Silicon Valley Bank closes after $42 Billion bank run.
This crisis must be getting serious. This morning my wife mentioned it (no prompting from me). She has read about it on her facebook. It reminds me of the probably apocryphal tale of Joseph Kennedy who decided to sell all his shares in 1929 when his shoeshine boy began giving him tips on stocks he ...

Re: time to withdraw money from financial institutions here now?
But that’s not how it works. The FDIC is funded by the banks, it has nothing to do with printing more money., I said "At the end of the day". SVB drained the FDIC pot on its own. All the other banks are having to cough up. In the event of multiple failures, the US Treasury would have to p...

Re: time to withdraw money from financial institutions here now?

Re: time to withdraw money from financial institutions here now?
The SVB issues are inapplicable to Cambodia. IMHO the main issues facing Cambodian banks and MFIs are a USD shortage (thus the recent increases in deposit interest rates) and the stonkingly high loan to deposit ratios. The most common cause of bank faliures globally over the years has been commerci...
