Re: 10 Reason to love Cambodia

Can I teach English online in Cambodia? I heard it pays about $20 per hour. The company is based in China. Could I get a work permit for that?

Re: is simple cannabis consumption legal or illegal in Cambodia?

Have cops been known to do drug searches in the streets of PP or SHV? (People traveling by foot, motorbike, car, etc.)

Are cops known for raiding people's rooms/houses for minor possession? (I don't care to smoke it but I like to cook with it.)

Re: is simple cannabis consumption legal or illegal in Cambodia?

Hmm. After reading this I get the impression that smoking cannabis in Siem Reap is risky, smoking in Phnom Pehn is safe in bars that sell it, and smoking in SHV is safe in most public places. I heard that if ever stopped by the police with cannabis one usually pays a $20 under the table fine. It tha...

Re: Moving to Cambodia

Does anyone know of any foreigners working at one of the happy pizza places? I enjoy making pizzas and it sounds like a fun place to work at.

Re: 10 Reason to love Cambodia

200 USD/hour? That sounds just a little too high. The most I see private tutors making in Thailand is 25 USD/hour.

Re: 10 Reason to love Cambodia

Allow me to be more specific. I'm from USA and currently working in Thailand. I make about $450 per month and it's enough to live on and have money left over for traveling. I could live off of $300 a month here in Thailand but then i wouldn't be able to travel around and do things I want to do as mu...

Re: 10 Reason to love Cambodia

Hey kiwiin. What happened that made you decide to never have a Khmer girlfriend again? Did your ex cut off your penis or something?

How many people here work in Cambodia and live off their income? I think the average salary is about $300 per month. Is that enough?

Teaching in Cambodia vs Thailand

Hello everyone.

For those who have taught English in both Cambodia and Thailand what differences and similarities have you noticed?

I know of 2 differences so far. 1) Thailand pays 3-5 times more. And 2) Cambodia doesn't require a degree.

Re: Bangkok vs Phnom Penh

I always travel by bus in SE Asia because it's cheaper than airplanes. I was wondering about the bus service in Cambodia. I heard that there are buses from Boi Pet to Phnom Penh from early morning until 10 am. After that, the only way to get around is by taxi. Is that true? What is price? Has anyone...

Re: Bangkok vs Phnom Penh

One thing I'm curious about is MSG. Does Cambodia use just as much or less than Thailand? All Thai restaurants use MSG except for some vegan ones. Only some Western restaurants don't use MSG. I estimate about 1 out of 2000 restaurants in Thailand don't use MSG. I've developed a little sensitivity to...
