Re: The Twitter Files

Private companies perceived to have a monopoly power can and do get regulated by the government all the time. During the growth of social media, government regulators were hands off. During the Trump years, government regulators liked what Twitter was doing and encouraged more self censorship, prais...

Re: The Twitter Files

Nah. Justice Department has a laser focus on Trump. Keep investigating and open more investigations until there is something to charge him with. The law (and supposed social norms) are so convoluted that we are all guilty of some sort of infringement. Even refusing to be investigated for no crime is...

She didn’t love him enough to work it out with him.

Actually pretty common thinking out in the provinces.

My opinions, of course.

Re: Province life vs City life, What works for you?

I could not survive living in the Cambodian countryside. Had to build an aircon room, then added a bathroom and shower, which turned into a floor with multiple rooms, which turned into raising and putting the family house on top, for the wedding. I admire the foreigners that can, but it’s not for me.

Re: Sponsoring a bar girl

BUT keep in Mind, long distance relationships rarely last or develop into something It does happen. I beat the odds. If she is the one destined for you and you are the one destined for her, and you believe in each other, the odds don’t matter. However, the odds for a taxi girl to believe in you is ...

The wrong wife is much more expensive than a prostitute, the wife born for you (and the one born for her) is a prostitute’s worst nightmare.

That’s a big reduction in the meat supply. What ever happens when there is an abrupt shortage and not enough the meat demand? Either prices will climb and hurt the most vulnerable. Or hoarding will occur. Or both. Of course the government could start rationing pigs, chickens, etc. and hand out ratio...

Re: Beware! Travel scams in Siem Reap (2022)

There’s a dirt road off the National Road from the airport to Siem Reap that’s lined with KTV bars. Supposedly the girls working there go out onto the road and pull single guys off their motos when they drive by and whisk them away into those bars for beer and a good time.

Be careful!

Re: Fire Sparks China Street Protests

Maybe the vaccines against the virus from the PRC aren’t so effective compared to western vaccines. Maybe if the restrictions are lifted, the worry is that PRC health care systems get overwhelmed. I haven’t heard of new formulations of the China vaxxes, but Pfizer and others have already come out wi...
