Re: Thailand Travel Restrictions and Info
A lot of locals who I talk to, especially folks working in various stores and restaurants, say that most international customers are coming from Europe since those countries have been open for a while and they get the feeling that Europeans are not as worried about the virus as folks from other Asi...

Re: Thailand Travel Restrictions and Info
I've been in for over a week now, no problems at all with the Test & Go, but have had to get rapid tested for plenty of other work related activities on a day to day basis, so it wasn't an issue. Traffic on Sukhumvit is pretty brutal at rush hours as it used to be and people are saying that's go...

Re: Thailand Travel Restrictions and Info
So I've actually done this today and can report the CURRENT situation (understanding that it may change very soon, at any time) * PCR was checked at the departure airport (needs to be 72 hours out, I did mine 48 hours out), and checked quite thoroughly as well by an airline with a reputation for bei...

Re: Thailand Travel Restrictions and Info
Thanks. Can you book the hotel through the Thai Pass online service? One issue was that the hotel had to be directly contacted and some were very unresponsive in sending the payment confirmation soon enough. No - it's just a registration tool. That being said, it does give a list of hotels that are...

Re: Thailand Travel Restrictions and Info
I went through the Thailand Pass Test & Go application today, as I'm traveling there in a few weeks. For those who are curious, the Thailand Pass site advises that it should take 3-7 business days to get approval on your application, but mine was done in less than 4 hours, so it seems like thing...

Re: Money Change Options
Almost every cash transaction you will do will be in US dollars, and change of less than $10 is often given in Riel. Hope that helps. I never pay in dollars. But I'm a renowned tightarse. Haha - fair enough. I did see Doc67 's comment on the other Phnom Penh advice post about using Riel where possi...

Re: Money Change Options
I have taken dozens of Grab cars from the airport, I have never waited more than a few minutes. Just Grab generally gets you a Lexus at the airport. As you say, the fare will be around $7 to $8 to Riverside area. Good to know, thanks. So they'll come in to the incoming passenger exit terminal where...

Re: Mandatory showing of vaccination card in Phnom Penh
If we are to return to no quarantine travel- I would opine that vax certificates are inevitable for international travel. Agreed, I think that's unquestionable, and would point to the recent discussion from the IATA conference as an indicator that the airlines are looking for consensus from various...

Re: Cambodia to reopen to Tourists
How long before Cambodia follows suit? https://www.reuters.com/world/asia-pacific/thailand-further-ease-coronavirus-restrictions-2021-09-27/ I think they are preparing to open up. They tweak the numbers, they are not so strict with "entertainment" venues anymore. It just matter of time th...
