Re: Fellow vagabonds - Options for this winter

If you do Mexico, may as well spend some time in Costa Rica if you can(no idea on their tourist situation right now). It's a beautiful place. Beaches, mountains, volcano, dense tropical forests full of monkeys and colorful wildlife, great weather, nice people, etc. I loved it there.

Re: Is buying a house probable

I'll just start by saying upfront I have no real experience here. But just thinking about it, to make you feel better and boost your confidence - If you've been here teaching for three years, you should be able to pull $1,000/month. Maybe more. Is the wife working? If so, another ~$150 or so? I live...

Re: NZ, Australia - into winter with Cv-19

I'm thinking of buying a recumbent trike and spending the rest of the year engaged in a solo ride through the outback and across the nullabour for giggles when regional borders have opened. Winter camping in the bush with panniers full of food and spares sounds like a remedy. Sounds like a remedy f...

Can we get more than one option on the poll? I like a few of the genres listed.

Re: KTV Staff Viciously Attack Customers who Question Bill

Eh. Nothing wrong with a little binge drinking. I don't do it as much anymore, but used to quite a bit years ago. Good times. I question those who don't have some sort of vice to help them cope with this shit society we live in. :beer3: I suppose it depends on the era you grew up in. To me that sou...

Re: Is this for real??

I don't know anything about tiger claws, but those look like they're probably only ~1cm long? I'd think tigers would have larger claws than that. Edit: OK, I looked it up real quick. Tiger's claws can be up to 10cm(4" for my U.S. friends). I'd think even the small ones would be a lot bigger tha...

For sure. That's one of the reasons to live in Cambodia. You can go out several times per week and still live on $800/month. Live it up.

I had some great Indian food when I was in Siem Reap. A couple times were among the best $4 meals I've ever gotten.

Re: Strength of draft beer.

You can tell if the lines have been cleaned regularly and the glasses, because it will pour a perfect head every time, the white of the head will stick to the glass all the way down to the end of the glass. I wish I knew where this myth started, and how to stop it. As someone who worked in the serv...

Re: Cambodian food

It's not only traditional khmer food that is bad or up to standards, its international foods too. Agreed, with regards to everything you said. I think the better food I've had that wasn't expensive(and proportionally very overpriced compared to Cambodia's economy) was what I guess I'd call generic ...
