Re: Cross cultural stories

DAY OF ALL THE BLOOD IN CAMBODIA THIS IS THE STORY OF A DAY WHERE THERE WAS ALL THIS BLOOD. A MAN WAS WALKING AROUND AND BLOOD STARTED COMING OUT OF HIM EVERYWHERE. THERE WAS SO MUCH BLOOD THAT IT FILLED UP AN ELEVATOR. HE WENT TO THE STORE AND THERE WAS JUST BLOOD ALL OVER THE PLACE! PEOPLE WERE S...

Also Denmark. Women’s beach volleyball team fined for not wearing bikini bottoms …. …. They wore Lycra shorts. Norway? https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.nbcnews.com/news/amp/ncna1274453 I'm pretty angry about this as well. https://i.imgur.com/K9YCj6C.jpg Oops. Same same <ducks> The Norwegian ladies ...

Re: Tokyo Olympic Opening Ceremony Music Removed, Composer Resigned

Because of an interview he gave 26 years ago? This insanity is just going to far. I called a classmate a fat cow when I was 11 and smoked my first joint when I was 13. Guess that rules me out of ever becoming someone important. Insanity for calling out a sadistic bully? Name calling and compromisin...

Re: Tokyo Olympic Opening Ceremony Music Removed, Composer Resigned

Back to the thread. Welcome to the new global ‘woke’ society. Where talent doesn’t count, just the correct PC credentials. I dread the day that Japan turns into a clone copy of US culture. While I don’t agree with cancel culture, no amount of talent gives someone a pass for torturing a disabled per...

Re: Fun at the vaccination center

That is complete nonsense. You're also trying to disparage Thais with these accusations and ignoring the reality of Cambodia. Health insurance (for Covid) is MANDATORY for foreigners coming into Cambodia during Covid. It is not, for Cambodian nationals. This is identical to the Thai policy, the dif...

Re: Fun at the vaccination center

$100+ over the official price? You need to change your agent. I just got a 12 month ER visa EOS for a total cost of $330 (not 100% sure of the actual visa EOS cost but I think it’s about $290?) so my agent takes the grand sum of $40 for taking care of all the “heavy lifting” ( it’d cost me way more...

Re: Fun at the vaccination center

Love the way there is an anecdotal report of a particular instance and some posters jump in with generalisations that disparage khmers and claim xenophobia. Come on. There may be more to this story.. OP- are you saying the village chief wouldn't authorise the vax papers based solely on the fact tha...

Re: Fun at the vaccination center

Maybe I was just lucky, but my experience with the vaccination process could not have gone smoother. Got my forms from the village chief 2 days prior to first vaccination day, rocked up to the vaccination center nice and early and got my number, sat myself on one of the chairs (staked down to ensure...

Pitcher plants, I’ve not seen the pitchers growing at ground level before, only hanging/suspended.
