Re: Lawyering up

I've got some legal advice so will follow that road, I don't want to publicly name and shame as the problem is internal and I want to give them the chance to fix it. And no, there are no overseas offices, just the one in Phnom Penh, it's a small Cambodian only outfit and I'd never have worked with t...

Re: Lawyering up

Don't worry about it, you don't have a lot of information to go on. And I focused on the second thing you said, which was certainly true - this has taken up a lot of time and energy, and if I was the only person this affected maybe I would just write it all off. But I'm not... Anyway, don't worry, I...

Re: Lawyering up

Yes, will do, though if they offer me $1 million with a binding NDA you will never hear a peep from me again. (A bad joke, they don't have that kind of money and I don't want a pay off anyway, just what I'm entitled to. I will come back and say what I can while being fair to all parties. Thanks for ...

Re: Lawyering up

Thanks everyone. Not so much about trying to teach anyone a lesson as trying to make them rethink certain policies and approaches, but I realise that we are now into nuances and small differences. All the advice here was listened to, anyway. Thanks.

Re: Lawyering up

Thanks everyone and thanks for the lawyer tips, have already reached out. I think its probably fair that there was a bit of tension between my "all tips and advice welcome" and "no messages re: corrupt system" requests, but I got something useful out of all the replies so thanks ...

Re: Lawyering up

Actually, I'm not certain that they will end up refusing to pay me (its for something I am contractually entitled to, lets put it like that). They have indicated they will not but that's under appeal. There are a lot of other complexities to the situation. I want to try and contact a lawyer so I am ...

Re: Lawyering up

Thanks and I appreciate all of this advice, some of which I had considered. I am trying very hard to behave ethically throughout all of this. The financial sum is not inconsiderable but that's not the main reason I will pursue it, it's simply that there are practices that they have pursued for a few...

Lawyering up

Hello you lot Can anyone recommend to me a lawyer who has knowledge of Cambodian labor law? Without going into too much detail, me and my former employer (a Cambodia based but foreign run NGO) are not ending on good terms, and I am owed money. So I am, ideally, looking for a very competent Cambodian...

Help excellent Cambodian NGO up for big global prize

I know this isn't the normal kind of topic but if anyone feels like doing anything nice today... An NGO I know well called This Life Cambodia is up for an international award for its work in Cambodian communities, particularly trying to stop violence. Not only do they do really good work but they ar...

Re: Getting a motorbike license in Phnom Penh

Yeah, thanks guys for the feedback. And yes, it's just for insurance purposes really.

If anyone knows anyone who is a fixer (not as in illegal, just someone who can navigate the bureacracy) let me know... cheers
