I need that meme where it has the point...and someone totally missing it.
You have a new baby. A lovely wife. A caring extended family. And this? This is what you do?
When you wake up alone in 20 years and finally get the point come on back and re read this.

Always dreamt of Timbuktu, but by the time I got to where I could go Mali descended into madness. I’m pretty ballsy but I like being alive so...yeah.

Re: Tips for Dealing with Street Dogs
Pepper spray may be an idea if it is legal here. Boil up some chilli peppers, load the spicy water into a water pistol or spray bottle and give the most aggressive mutt a facefull. Plain water is just as effective and not as cruel. (Though in a real dog vs human skirmish I take the humans side, I c...

Re: Tips for Dealing with Street Dogs
Also yes attitude is everything. Stand tall, straight, don’t say much. Move your shoulders forward looking straight at them sternly and make a low “no, uh uh” noise. Raise an arm. Move slowly but firmly towards them. Granted I haven't experienced all dogs and no trainer would (should) claim to be an...

Isn’t that a...nutria? That’s a nutria. It’s a giant rat basically.
But I mean that’s what y’all get for eating pate from tins. Got gobs of British etc friends and it all tastes like cat food so honestly well done old couple, life hack.

Re: Where to now?
I simply cannot stand to stay any longer so have given up on SEA and am off to Mexico in July. From there maybe on to other places further south. I never saw myself leaving Asia so soon (well, it has been 20 years) but the situation seems hopeless and Im not getting any younger. Plus who knows maybe...

Re: Define literacy for us and what is your experience here with encountering literacy?
Having recently learned to read and write in Khmer, I would marvel at a 40 % literacy rate. It makes a great deal of sense to me literacy in English is better- not just because it “follows the money” but because as messed up as English is it’s a good deal simpler than Khmer. Written Khmer is a night...

Re: What's your relationship status? Poll.
I picked “can still pull chicks when I want to” but I’m a woman, that’s just as close as I could get to “not interested in marriage/long term but has short relationships”. With men, but you left no option for that as previously stated.
