Re: Eurotech Water Drums

I have drank tap water using one of these Korea brand filters for 11 years (replace every year) without problem. They are ~$15. and available all over https://i.imgur.com/sC2KEr9.jpg I just bought one of these. It says Thailand on it but it looks exactly the same. Didn't find anything from Korea. I...

Re: Eurotech Water Drums

Don't trust those bottles. The water maybe clean but then never sterilise the plastic bottles when refilling. Get a ceramic filter or just boil the tap water. I actually wondered about boiling the tap water. I have used it for coffee with no issues thus far. I tried boiling it, then cooling it in t...

Eurotech Water Drums

I live in a serviced apartment, and one of the services they provide is these 20L Eurotech water drums for $1.50 upon request. For the first day I was drinking it, everything was fine. However the next day, while I was drinking, I noticed a bitter after taste and a chemical smell. I had the building...

Re: Job Hunting Advice

Richard, I could live quite comfortably on $1000 a month to be honest. I will definitely be looking for more than that because of my experience and education, but my lifestyle is pretty low cost. I cook at home, I don't drink, smoke, or do drugs. In all honesty, one of my main reasons for moving to ...

Re: Job Hunting Advice

I came back from China last week, and beside doing some business I talked to the Chinese about education and English classes. I have little experience in China, quite a lot in Cambodia, and I would say: run back. A few years of teaching in Cambodia will just offer you some experiences, but hardly a...

Re: Job Hunting Advice

Are you sure you want to have Cambodia on your CV as a teacher? Being able to navigate a society rife with corruption, and companies with poor management (I assume) is actually an asset on an a resume if presented properly. I'm saying this as a 7 year company owner (now sold for a profit) and forme...

Re: Job Hunting Advice

I'm not a teacher, but from all the ones I know, and what I regularly see posted on FB groups and forums, the only way to find a job with a school here is to beat the pavement. You need to go in person to the schools with a physical copy of your CV, most schools (or any Cambodians for that matter) ...

Job Hunting Advice

Hi all, I'm currently looking for a job as an English or PE teacher in Phnom Penh. I taught in China for 8 years and I was a volunteer tutor in Canada for 5 years. I've been applying to schools by sending a cover letter and CV to their respective HR departments. I'm wondering if that is indeed the b...
