Re: Chili peppers from seed

I have a little veranda garden going and sprouted some chili pepper seed from some chilis bought at the market. They have been in flower for more than a month and still no fruit. Are chilis here GMO/sterile ... or are there just not enough bugs to pollinate due to all the mosquito straying? Thought...

Re: What is the benefit of living in Cambodia, instead of Thailand or Vietnam?

Additionally, it seems that the traditional New Year celebrations are somewhat more civilized in Cambodia than those in Thailand and Laos (?) as well as shorter in duration.

Police struggled with a man and finally shot him.
So, you assumed this person's gender?

That sounds like a micro-aggression.

Re: What is the benefit of living in Cambodia, instead of Thailand or Vietnam?

It's a good question, one that I sometimes ask myself. I've lived in all three of these countries plus Laos. Thailand started off well, living in Bangkok was heaven every night and hell every day of the week. I felt really alive there. Then, the 1997 Tom Yang Kung crisis occurred and the long downwa...

Re: Cambodian food

I have found this Khmer dish, Samlor Korko, to be quite impressive. According to wikipedia, "Samlor kako (Khmer: សម្លកកូរ, lit. 'stirring soup', pronounced [sɑmlɑː kɑːkou]) or Cambodian ratatouille is a traditional Cambodian soup considered one of Cambodia's national dishes. Samlar kako consist...

Re: Moving from Thailand to Cambodia

I've lived and worked in Thailand for 10 years but recently I've become so tired of their pretentious culture and the swathes of know-it-all expats and posers. Has anyone ever been in this position and decided to move to Cambodia? How did it go? I've visited Phnom Penh regularly since probably 2018...

Re: Tourist Traps

Tricky question. Almost everything in Kampot feels like a tourist trap. 555 - I was earlier thinking about posting similar sentiments with regard to Kampot. :D 7/11 is good though, never fucks you over with the prices. However, I can't agree about 7-11. Sure the prices are fixed, but as it's not lo...

As they say, "location, location, location"... Cambodia is in the tropics, which "...receive sunlight that is more direct than the rest of Earth and are generally hotter and wetter as they aren't affected as much by the solar seasons." https://cdn.britannica.com/40/89940-050-37DF...
