Re: Your Health

This. All these "experts" are just trying to make a quick buck. Just saw an add on FB claiming one could lose 40(!) pounds in a week. The supposedly miracle cures/diets are for the gullible and lazy. There are no shortcuts to a healthy diet or weight control. I do try and avoid sugar as it...

Re: VIDEO: Ship hits Keys Bridge in Maryland (USA)

Why did Biden promise full federal funding to replace the bridge? “It's my intention that the federal government will pay for the entire cost of reconstructing that bridge and I expect the Congress to support my effort," Biden said, speaking from the White House ahead of a trip to North Caroli...

Re: Your Health

Hmmm, I go to the gym 5-6 times a week, run a little, walk lots, and generally am pretty active. Still like my beer and food, but do count calories. Also currently fast 14 hours a day.

One would hope so, but it seems real. Not comprehensible, for me at least. I guess it is all politics, but it is a sad state of affairs when even the UN makes it clear that they do not give a flying eff about women's rights.

UN picks Saudi Arabia to lead women’s rights forum despite ‘abysmal’ record

The UN does a great job at making itself more irrelevant every day: Saudi Arabia has been chosen as the chair of the UN commission that is supposed to promote gender equality and empower women around the world, after an unopposed bid for leadership condemned by human rights groups because of the kin...

Unlikely that the anchor would have stopped a ship that size, that is not how anchors work. Also, looks like they ran out of time.

Re: Barang punches female staff in the face @ Big Easy

The story I've been told is....it was closing time, really late, no customers, only him. He wanted service, staff said no, closing. He went behind the bar, wanted to help himself to something, bar girl refused. He became aggressive, she defended her stock, he didn't like it and lost his shit. Typic...

Re: Vietnam advice

Hoi An: most of the good beaches have disappeared due to erosion. A very good Hotel is the Victoria Hoi An (disclaimer: I worked for the company). Avoid weekends if at all possible. A plethora of great restaurants. Ha Long: I cannot really recommend it anymore (I was in charge of our boats there and...
