Re: What the hell is up with the air in Phnom Penh today?

If your nose and throat are itchy, maybe its time to get tested about allergie or astma. I never knew i had it until my 50 and coincidentially they did discover it doing some tests, if you walk years with it without knowing probably you will feel or see it as normal, until they test you, as i did !...

What pollution? The Ministry of Environment says that the air quality in Phnom Penh remains "healthy". :stir:

Re: What the hell is up with the air in Phnom Penh today?

It's due to farmers burning their rice stubble. Slash and burn agriculture is responsible for some of the worst air pollution in Asia but it's seasonal and depends on the wind direction. I think it is a little more than that. Most forests in Cambodia have been chopped down and turned into intensely...

Re: Sombok Restaurant

I believe it is also an "All female staff" restaurant for those inclined to support such initiatives. It is a very good restaurant & have eaten there on various occasions, definitely one for the business lunches if you have folks from out of town keen to try some local fare. You are r...

Re: Rules of the road? Cambodian edition

one thing that always scares me in a car or even more so on a bike, be it Thailand, Cambodia, Laos etc, is slowing down an stopping as a yellow light turns to red. I ALWAYS make it a point to see how far behind me the car or motorcycle is FYI: mirrors on a bike are not for looking at whose behind y...

Re: Dengue Fever Cambodia Tour 17-19-20th Feb

Saw Dengue Fever last night for the 3rd time It wasn't shit, but it wasn't great either. It just seemed like crappy jam session that went on forever with a couple of hits here and there I'd have been pissed if I'd bought the $45 ticket 4th time and I agree. The best concert was in Battambang where ...

I do have a question - were you full afterwards or did you eat again that evening?
I wasn't stuffed, but I did not have the urge to eat anything else after that.

Re: Casa Blanes

This is culinary art, not a 'feed'. 99% of the kitchens in Phnom Penh couldn't even source the ingredients, let alone create the finished product. That is what you pay for, plus the ambience, the staff training and all the rest that goes with putting on a show like this. Think of it as theatre with...

Re: Casa Blanes

I've always been a big fan of your reviews, Hanno. However! Yup, there's a caveat...the reviews seem to be going increasingly high-end. Good luck to you if you can do it but I can feed my whole family several times over for 104 dollars, the cost for one person's set menu at the latest place. I just...
