Re: Late meal, New Tears Eve
Google just now tells me 18 Rick Reay is closed. Hmmmm.
What about a Chinese place, around the big market say, St 128 (I think)? Anybody rate Sam Woo/Sam Doo? I read they were open late.

Late meal, New Tears Eve
A few years ago we ate at the old La Patate, so so steak, but lots of it, and their terrific fries. Under $30. Then, at about 11 pm down to riverside for all the excitement, haha. Last year was looking at the Wat Phnom fireworks from our hotel room, terrific glass so no sound. Where the heck can we ...

Re: Was I ripped?
About 4 years ago I got a terrific south-west French wine (forget the name, region) for $22 at Thai Huat. In Ontario it was priced the same converted to US currency. The LCBO has an excellent inventory system; the province only had 5 bottles and Toronto 1. And I got it! Where is the Chateau place an...

Was I ripped?
I went to the well known wine store on St 240 and got a Bouchard Pere et Fils Bourgogne Pinot Noir, thought it was expensive at $23. Looking at the Ontario government LCBO store on line, their regular price equates to just under $17 USD.
Hmmm. What place in Phnom Penh has better prices?

Les Oliviers closed
We went looking for a place where we always eat when in Phnom Penh, Les Oliviers on St 51 across from the forever diminishing bar mall. Couldn’t find it. I sent a message to Les O’s Facebook page. Got a quick message back that he closed it. Too bad.

In Canada, circa 1970, made from leather and old tires, they were cheap, durable, comfortable and we called them Ho Chi Minh specials.

Lots of Beer Lao in Cambodia, $1 or less, never seen Myanmar beer (which I love). Strange, but I like Cambodia beer better than Angkor. $2 for a Beer Lao in Lao is damned pricey.
