Re: VIDEO: Ship hits Keys Bridge in Maryland (USA)

Procedure calls for dropping the anchor, that's what may of steered into the bridge. Unlikely that the anchor would have stopped a ship that size, that is not how anchors work. Also, looks like they ran out of time. Stick to being a food critic! "The 948-foot (288.95 m) vessel had experienced ...

Re: VIDEO: Ship hits Keys Bridge in Maryland (USA)

Shoulda used American steel ... oh yeah, forgot ... they closed all the steel mills and now buy the cheapest steel available from other countries. sighAF Matty as the bridge was built in 1977 and the steel would have been produced before or at that time then I think you'll find it was made in the U...

Re: According to my memory

I didn't take much notice of the colour which I thought was fairly good.
I thought the USSR as it was back then would been a lot stricter on that free living(?) lifestyle but the photos show otherwise.
Any more Sinus?

Re: Visit a prisoner sihanoukville

Two lawyers could not access court records? Who paid for the lawyers? Obviously not you as you can barely afford to look after yourself apparently let alone cough up for lawyers. An NGO paid prison guards bribes? Who coughed the cash in that instance? The NGO visited every Cambodian prison? That's a...

Re: Visit a prisoner sihanoukville

This girl was a friend of your ex gf and you said she doesn't speak any English and indeed you have not been in contact or knew her whereabouts until recently. Previous to that was over 5 years ago and even then it doesn't sound like it eas an overly close friendship but more so with tour ex gf. You...

Re: 4 buses explode at Angkor Wat

Tiger Balm was sent to the scene by the competent authorities to treat any victims.
By the look of the photos it would appear someone has stored DG in the cargo bay of at least one bus. Leaking gas cylinder?

Re: Canadian, well Chinese, man opens plane door

Saw a similar thing happen when we were operating an airfield in Oecussi the East Timorese enclave. The UN chartered civilian aircraft had just started to taxi when the rear passenger door flew open and a bloke jumped out and ran into the bushes at the side of the runway. We found out later from the...

Re: Fanta flavours suddenly discontinued

I was deployed to the Solomon Islands for 3 months which is still very much littered with war debris. On our day off which was Sunday's unless there was aircraft traffic, we would drive to a place called Dollar Beach so named as that was the charge ($1 USD) by locals to use the beach. We heard that ...
