Always wearing a nice suit, think he was already between 50 and sixty at that time.
Interesting story. I enjoyed Literary Outlaw more than any of his novels. He was born in 1914 though so would have been around 70 when you met him.

Re: Looking for just one or few 78 speed records in English

Maybe worth a try then. I remember having stacks of them back home but I've barely ever seen any records here. Duncan who used to post here but died had stacks of old Vietnamese 45s and the only other place I've seen them is in Space Four Zero.

Re: Phnom Penh Air Quality

I'm not in denial, it has been very dusty recently I just haven't really noticed any more smog than usual. There's always a cloud of pollution over the city, you can see it clearly on some approaches. However even if the air was totally clean it still wouldn't feel as fresh as the breeze on a mounta...

Phnom Penh Enveloped in Smog Amid Wave of Regional Air Pollution https://kiripost.com/stories/phnom-penh-enveloped-in-smog-amid-wave-of-regional-air-pollution The AQ isn't very good at the moment, judging by my sinuses. The lack of rain washing the crap away doesn't help. Living in the mountains in...

Re: Israel and Palestinian Conflict

Will Hamas be around in 10 years time? Or will they be replaced by a more moderate, progressive government in Gaza? If there's one constant in this world it's that there will always be turmoil in the Middle East. Meanwhile people are distracted from the Ukraine war. Ignore the war in Europe at your...

Yes, anytime I've flown out of here the passengers are mostly local. Then again they are always relatively short flights to the nearest large hub like BKK, Hong Kong etc

Re: Used Book stores

I have a shelf load of books on Cambodia and the region. I like to be able to pull them out and find information that isn't necessarily available online. That said I've become lazy about reading printed books and there is a bit of a backlog of books I haven't gotten around to reading. It's just easi...

Re: Who is the heir...

It's also worth noting that Norodom Sihanouk wasn't king for most of his political career. He abdicated in 1955 and his father became king until his death in 1960. There was no king after that until 1993.
