I've obviously been leading a sheltered life because I'd never heard about this. I thought this sort of wasteful ostentation was the preserve of the Gulf states.

The Thai energy co is behind a lot of dams being built in the region because they need energy to make Thailand "progress." The whole ecological cycle is being destroyed, fish stocks dropping and people are losing their homes, because of oversized and badly planned dams. Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam are paying for Thai energy consumption.
Man, I would be so pissed to lose my home, my village and my livlihood because Thais need snowparks. Just WTF. Seriously.
And have the Thais not heard that there's an energy crisis ? Global warming or some shit like that.

I'll take the wife there. She wants to play in the snow and I don't like to travel especially with visa hassles. Thanks Anchor Moy!
