Illegal Viet Man Jumps From Hotel Because He Can't Find Work
A Vietnamese man jumped off the second floor of Pacific hotel, he didn’t end up dead but seriously injured
Phnom Penh: According to Koh Santepheap Daily News, A Vietnamese man jumped off the second floor of Pacific hotel and he didn’t end up dead but seriously injured.
This shocking event happened around 10:08 am on 07 October 2015 at street 154, Phsar Thmey II commune, Duan Penh district, Phnom Penh.
Police said, the identity of the Vietnamese man was not known. He was sent to calmette hospital later.
According to Kampuchea Thmey Daily News, the Vietnamese man told police that the reason that he decided to end his life because he entered Cambodia illegally via Bavet border. He entered Cambodia without visa. He added, he came to Cambodia to look for job. He stayed in that hotel with his friends 5 days ago. He doesn’t have money and job, that’s why he decided to commit suicide by jumping via the hotel window.
Police said, after he jumped, he had broken leg and right hand. Now, he is being hospitalized at Calmette hospital.

just curious to know in a case like this who ends up paying the medical bills if he doesn't have any money? And how long would a hospital in Cambodia continue to provide accommodation to a foreigner after discovering this?

Sounds like he has friends here. They might be paying it. Probably poor care for the fella.
I assume in a lot of these cases they just don't admit them.
