Abate-the chemical

Post by hoodedviper »

Does anyone know where I can buy this chemical? It is used to kill mosquitoes and their larvae in standing water. Thanks.

There is no need to use any chemicals. You only need to sprinkle a spoonful, or up to 5 spoonful's of kero or light oil on the surface, depending on the surface area. You can even use a cooking oil.

Now please, please, please , don't tell me it does not work until you have tried it . I grew up in the countryside and it was my job to keep the wrigglers under control in our 4 x 500 gal tanks.

I know it works;,I grew up rurally too,but I don't want to use oil because of run off into crops and it does not disperse effectively over a large area of water. Thanks anyway.

Yea, Come to think of it, I guess a couple of spoonful's of kero or cooking oil will pollute the world .

Environmental concerns are not the point. You assume too much knowledge on your part and too much ignorance on mine. If I follow your advice the oil will stick to the weeds in the standing water and not disperse properly. You were using it In a tank where presumably you did not have this problem. So, please I know what I need. Please future posters don't suggest alternatives and try to avoid sarcasm or sermons.
