How (not) to teach children to drink.

If you have something so weird, strange or off-topic to post and think it doesn't belong in any other forum; you're probably right. Please put all your gormless, half-baked, inane, glaikit ideas in here. This might also be a place where we throw threads that appear elsewhere that don't belong ANYWHERE end up, instead of having to flush them. FORUM RULES STILL APPLY.

How (not) to teach children to drink.

Post by Anchor Moy »

What age did you start drinking ? With parents' permission or not ?

This seems to be an example of what not to do:
A Wyoming woman and her husband have been charged with involuntary manslaughter in the alcohol poisoning death of her 16-year-old son, whom they plied with mixed drinks and shots of scotch to teach him a lesson about drinking, authorities said on Wednesday...

...The teen likely died from complications of acute alcohol poisoning, according to an autopsy. A toxicology report showed his blood-alcohol level at seven times the legal driving limit, as well as amounts of a chemical used to treat ADHD at five times the recommended therapeutic concentration.

Without permission? Memorably at the age of 4 at one of my parent's parties...

With permission? I was about 10. 1 glass of wine or 1 bottle of beer with a weekend meal.

Now? Raging alcoholic and wish I'd never picked up that first bottle...

Around 10, my father let me taste a beer, I nearly puked.

'It tastes horrible!'

' Hahaha, no one drinks it mainly for the taste...'

Around 14, drank a full 750ml bottle of Devonshire cider..,let the good times roll!
