Rohingya Refugee Asks Cam-Gov to Send him Back To Burma

Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

Poorly administered? They were lied to? Impossible. Not with the Australian and Cambodian governments involved, I simply don't believe it!

"Cambodia-Australia refugee deal valid for 4 years": senior immigration official.
PHNOM PENH, Sept. 7 (Xinhua) -- The refugee resettlement agreement struck by Cambodia and Australia in last September is valid for four years, according to a Cambodian senior immigration official on Monday...
"The MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) is valid for 4 years. During this period, if either party wants to change or terminate the deal, a written notification is required," Major General Kem Sarin, director of the General Department of Immigration's administration department, told reporters, adding that so far neither side has problem with the MoU.

I think I read somewhere that there is no set number of refugees agreed upon, so if the Cambodians can spin it out long enough with their 3 or 4 refugees, there's no basis for the Australians to ask for a refund if Cambodia refuses to take more. Only 3 more years to stall. It's a steal. :hattip:
