Not so much Western logic but logic overall. Eastern thinking led the world at one time - the East was where the world's major religions began, it's where the discoveries of gunpowder, printing, spectacles, etc. were made... and then everything seemed to go backwards. There's an excellent book; "The Geography of Thought" which examines this in detail.

Little Factoid for ya also, England doesnt actually have a National Anthem, God Save the Queen is used as the National Anthem for sporting events such as football, but in Cricket they use a song called Jerusalem, also a song called Land of hope and glory is a popular choice at sporting events

Second fact re God the Save Queen... it's the national anthem of England and Great Britain as well as the national anthem of Lichtenstein though they use different words...

Vaguely related factoid: Zambia's national anthem is based on the tune nkosi sikelel iAfrika, a song adopted by the ANC but banned in SA for a long time.
