Re: What are your favourite hangover cures ?
What about those famous morning-after drinks or things like a raw egg when you get up ? Bloody Mary usually goes down a treat, but I have a mental block about swallowing raw eggs.
Ok, found it - the egg thing is called a"prairie oyster" but sounds disgusting and does not contain alcohol.

More promising is the Amber Moon:

More promising is the Amber Moon:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amber_MoonAn Amber Moon is a cocktail containing Tabasco sauce, raw egg, and whiskey[1] or sometimes vodka.[2] The drink is similar to a Prairie oyster, but has fewer ingredients and includes alcohol.[3] It is therefore intended more as a "pick me up" or "hair of the dog" hangover remedy

apparently a high protein meal before a night out helps keep your metabolism steady throughout the night dealing with/processing the alcohol better through your system, so by the time it comes to waking up you should wake up with a far less hangover #SciencyStuff

After I've had too much whiskey, I cook myself a large flank steak, pan-fried in salted butter. I eat that, put on a pair of wet socks, and go to sleep.

I thought prairie oysters were just another name for (rocky) mountain oysters

Looks like it's both of them...as well as being the name of an obscure canadian band.PSD-Kiwi wrote:I thought prairie oysters were just another name for (rocky) mountain oysters

^^^^^ I've had 'em a couple times when I lived in Montana and they're tasty. Lamb fries (balls) are even better,

Re: What are your favourite hangover cures ?
in my 40+ yrs of drinking, the ONLY thing that really helped a hangover (beside the hair of the dog) was reefer. Toke up and it totally takes the edge off. I've noticed I don't really feel 100% again until 24 hrs after the drinkin.

Re: What are your favourite hangover cures ?
Oh no ! A recent study shows that the only way to avoid a hangover is to drink less.
What is the point of such research ??
[quote...]"Whilst further research is needed, this new research tells us that the answer is simple - 'drink less'." [/quote]
