Syracuse, New York: Former doctor, James D'Agostino, will be added to the state's list of registered sex offenders because of his conviction in Cambodia from 2011 were he was convicted of having sex with a 15 year old boy.

They originally weren't going to put him on the list because of concerns of due process overseas, in which the victim recanted his allegations.

However, the U.S. courts later decided is was clear he just paid that victim off to change his story, so decided to add him anyways.

He spent 18 months in Prey Sar Prison for his crime in Cambodia.

...James D'Agostino spent 18 months in a Cambodian prison for paying a 15-year-old boy for sexual favors in 2011. When he returned home, a state sex offender registration board sought to have him placed on the public registry.

State Supreme Court Justice John Brunetti decided against putting D'Agostino in the registry, noting concerns about due process in the overseas court. For instance, the victim recanted his allegations and D'Agostino was convicted using a police officer's account....

Syracuse, NY -- A former Syracuse emergency room doctor was not denied his right to a fair trial by an Asian court that found him guilty of sexually abusing a boy, an appeals court ruled.

James D'Agostino spent 18 months in prison in Cambodia after being convicted in 2011 of paying a 15-year-old boy for sexual favors. He had traveled to the southeast Asian nation for charity work not connected to his job at Upstate University Hospital.
