No PayPal... and my clients don't like paying via intermediary banks in the US (nor do I much enjoy that experience - where I get to spend hours on the phone to Chase Manhattan explaining why I am not a money launderer - every single time it happens). Getting paid into the UK and then transferring to here... costs me slightly over 10% of my take (I get paid in USD - watch Paypal eat their fee - then watch an exchange rate fee for conversion into pounds - then back again into dollars - then the costs of the transfer or withdrawal via bank card). So, it's time to go and get PayPal'd up in a country where that works and reduce my costs dramatically.

You lost me there, haha...does sound difficult. It's a shame that you have to consider leaving Cambodia because of this, I hope you can work out a solution.

my life in sihanoukville is easy
PP is more difficult
when im in sihanoukville my cost of living is a fraction of the cost of what it would be back home, accommodation, transport, food and drink, social life
i live by the sea, its a very relaxing and chilled out vibe in sihanoukville, my life is very easygoing,

i say PP is more difficult but thats mainly due to the stresses of being in a big city, not quite as chilled out, and i have to rely on motos and tuk tuks (who never know where theyre going) all the time instead of having my own transport in SHV,

i can live more well off, have a much more active social life, treat myself to massages all the time etc etc, life in england is too serious, too stressed, too brainwashed, too materialistic, where people will go out and blow £70+ ($116) on a shirt (that you could pick up in a cambodian market for $5), i just dont enjoy myself every time i go back,

i went to go see the Cambodian Space Project play a gig in London a couple of nights ago...
my train (i got the tickets cheap online for $40) should have cost $120 for a 1.5hour journey,
my accommodation was a bed in a single room that cost $64 a night (which is super cheap for london where the average is $130)
and i was having to pay £4.50($7) for a beer served in a plastic cup, totally takes the fun out of it when youre used to spending $0.50-$1 a glass haha

1 more thing, i think already mentioned is the availability of taxi service ie. moto and tuk tuk drivers, they are just about everywhere and very keen to take you to where you want to go, where as in england in my city(as i think others as well), it is illigal to flag down a taxi, they must be pre booked, and during peak times you could be looking at a 1/2/3hour wait for an available taxi! so have to be booked in advance and theyre expensive which can really eat into/add to your night budget/spends

As what others have said, I think they mean "life is simple/relaxed" in Cambodia. Not necessarily "easy". Life is what you make of it, but the general pace of life in other countries is often much faster, and the average workweek often more stressful/demanding. It's also much easier to go out/meet friends here. This has quickly been changing with the increase in traffic, but it's still way faster/easier to get around town.
