Dating 'good girls'
Dating 'good girls'
I'm in a situation where I have a rendezvous with this girl that works in a coffee shop near my workplace and I've got no earthly clue wtf I'm gonna do tomorrow. I'll be honest, my previous experience with dating girls like her (proper job, financially independent, Khmer, good English, bloody gorgeous etc.) are rather slim. I thought about bringing a present or something, but I'm not quite sure how that would come across. Would she think I'm just trying to be nice or would it come across as trying to bribe her into have sex with me? If I were to buy a present, what would be a good present to buy.
I'm also pretty sure that nothing much would come of a first date since that's apparently not how things work 'round here so this is more of a long term thing...
...but yeah, anyway. I'm not too coherent right now, but that's what rum does to you, isn't it? So yeah. Any thoughts and previous personal experience is highly appreciated. Cheers people.

At the start of your date, why not just cut to the chase with something like, "Do you fck?"

Re: Dating 'good girls'
wtf would u bring a present? u do that if she was white?? i doubt it
Hey she agreed to go out with you cause she saw something in u so just be yourselve.
Take it easy , go to Aoen mall, see a movie an have a meal and .....
Dont expect anything and at the end, tell her u had a good time ( if u did)

Why not take a chainsaw? That way if the date turns out to be a poor one, you can instantly make it more interesting by firing it up. Chicks dig Chainsaws in Cambodia.
I tend to agree that a present comes across as weird. It's more a very old fashioned Western thing rather than a Khmer one. If your girl turns up on her own... she's not a good girl. More likely she will bring a chaperone and your present will be paying for both of them to eat.

Present? Jesus, where to start...
And no offense Grinch, but this is 2015. Plenty of girls are willing to go on a date alone provided it's not a weird time or location.

Bring her flowers ( non-roses). Pick some up from any corner of a Phsar for a few bucks. You can't go wrong with flowers.Jacket wrote:I'm in a situation where I have a rendezvous with this girl that works in a coffee shop near my workplace and I've got no earthly clue wtf I'm gonna do tomorrow. Re: Dating 'good girls'
khmer "good girls" tend to be quite shy, and a gift could make her embarrassed,
ive been on a few dates with a few really nice good girls,
there was this one, she was absolutely stunning, really polite, her english wasnt 100% but she was really nice and was a manager in some khmer business company, but due to her work schedule and family she was only free to meet one evening a week, which for me at the time wasnt very practical, and there have been a fair few others as well, it is doable, just dont let sex cross your mind, like at all, it wont happen, and if it does shes definitely not a "good girl", and as Hanno said, if you go through with it be prepared to be in it for the long run...
one of my mates who lives in cambodia was with his girlfriend for 4-5 years, never slept together and he waited for her, when they wanted to get married, their parents then didnt approve because she is from a decent family and he just works the bar in sihanoukville lol not seen much of him since we had a heart to heart about the whole situation a few months back, came up to me saying everything was sorted with her family but then he disappeared to PP lol

Wait, is this a "date"? Not to be nosey, but wasn't it just a couple months ago that you were posting about whether or not to have kids with your "better half"?
Can you enlighten us, if you're so inclined?
And I also vote NO GIFT for the first date. Meal on the riverside. Ferris wheel in DreamLand. Eat some crickets in the park across the street. Done. You'll be getting laid in no time!

Re: Dating 'good girls'
Gonna be an outlier here: If your first inclination is to bering a gift, as fucked up as an idea as many here might think that is, BRING the gift. Be yourself. If she doesn't dig that she doesnn't dig you. Blah, blah. Be yourself; maybe she likes a. tool. Maybe you aare hung like a mule, and though she thinks you are incredibly nieve, she like your giagantic cock, haha. Or maybe she wants whatever you have, like maybe yopur innnocent personality. Just don't advance her money, be yourself, and have fun.
Cheers,
GBH
PS Just reread my post and your Q. Follow up thing here: Does she even know about your interest in her? If not, igonore anything I might say, have said, or wil post.
