Pontoon lounge drink prices... and 99 cents.

This is the part of the forum where we discuss Cambodia's nightlife! While most bars, nightclubs, pubs, beer gardens, and hostess bars are in Phnom Penh, we discuss the Cambodian nightlife across all of Cambodia, including Siem Reap, Kampot, and Sihanoukville. The main nightlife areas in Phnom Penh are on Street 136, Street 130, Street 110 and Street 51, but there are other party spots that aren't girlie bars where expats, tourists, and locals drink until the sun comes up. Feel free to post specials and promotions that relate to nighttime fun!

OrangeDragon wrote:Bottle service is rarely about the price of the bottle vs retail. Consider this, a whisky coke at $2 a drink, about 30 drinks to a bottle, is around $60 a bottle... tack on a little extra for the table you'll be taking up, and walah. $70.

Any place you EVER drink at that isn't home or a friends you're probably paying significantly over retail.
This. Bottles are often cheaper than the equivalent amount of individual drinks as well.

Not back home though... a bottle in a Vegas nightclub would run you $1000 or more. Of course you get VIP access, some status crap, a table and seats in a standing room only place, and a personal serving girl for the evening to mix your drinks for you.

I think it needs to be noted as well that If you don't finish your bottle at the end of the night the remains will be left for you on your next visit.

That has to be taken into account as well

Yeah, that's pretty rare honestly... lol. In the US that would be unheard of.

LoL, and if we're going to be noting things, I also hear you can get in for free if you tell the staff at the entrance you want a bottle and a table.

I went to Sharkeys for the first time in probably over a year this Saturday and I noticed a glass of wine in the fridge with blue duct tape over it. Curious, I asked the waitress what that was all about. I was (naively) expecting a story about the owner keeping a filled glass for a friend who had recently passed away or something. Nope, she told me girls leave their drinks there for later, lol. That has to be a new record! Not plastic cling wrap, but actual duct tape, haha. Cleaning that glass will be a bitch and the wine will probably taste like crap.
