How is your sleep ?

If you have something so weird, strange or off-topic to post and think it doesn't belong in any other forum; you're probably right. Please put all your gormless, half-baked, inane, glaikit ideas in here. This might also be a place where we throw threads that appear elsewhere that don't belong ANYWHERE end up, instead of having to flush them. FORUM RULES STILL APPLY.

How is your sleep ?

Post by Anchor Moy »

New Yorker journalist Maria Konnikova has published a 3 series article on sleep. Enjoy.
1/ Why can't we fall asleep ?

2/ The work we do while we're asleep.

3/ The walking dead.

In a series of conversations with sleep scientists this May, facilitated by a Harvard Medical School Media Fellowship, I learned that the consequences of lack of sleep are severe. While we all suffer from sleep inertia (a general grogginess and lack of mental clarity), the stickiness of that inertia depends largely on the quantity and quality of the sleep that precedes it. If you’re fully rested, sleep inertia dissipates relatively quickly. But, when you’re not, it can last far into the day, with unpleasant and even risky results.

If you sleep six hours a night for twelve days, Adusumilli says—and that’s about how much many Americans sleep all year round—your cognitive and physical performance becomes virtually indistinguishable from that of someone who has been awake for twenty-four hours straight.

Stopped reading here. Pile of steaming horseshit designed to keep the author in work.

I've I've spent years on about 4 hours sleep a night, with residual fiduciary success.

"Leonardo da Vinci may have created the Mona Lisa on two hours of sleep a day, broken up into 15-minute naps every four hours...."

Looks like a definitive answer might be, It depends.

Lions sleep around 20 hours a day, send the wifeys out to work, and get to eat first.

That's the life.

if i sleep any more than 4-6 hours sleep then i feel groggy and sleepy all day, if i have around 4-5 hours then i feel alert and on point all day and i wake up quicker, when im living in cambodia i become quite the insomniac and generally only have 1-2 hours sleep a day, and maybe throw a 30-60minute afternoon nap in there as well, but thats probably because i become too lazy to sleep lol
