L'Orchidee - Russian Market

An amazing restaurant that is tucked away in the Russian Market area. Located on street 464 (between streets 155 and 163) just a few hundred metres south of the Russian Market.

A restaurant that specializes in Khmer Food with a few European dishes thrown in for good measure. The restaurant is run by a very amiable frenchman and his lovely wife.

L'Orchidee is a converted Villa and is a place that makes you feel at home with great atmosphere and welcoming staff.

The food is very reasonable in price - dinner for two ususally averages for us at around $15 including beer and walking away very full.

Never be in a rush coming to L'Orchidee as the food can take its time getting to the table, but it is worth the wait and we have never been disappointed. Highly recommend the Lemongrass Chicken and the Ginger Chicken. $2 for a jug of beer is a steal also.

Finishing the meal off with one of their amazing desserts is a must, the chocolate mousse is to die for.

Love the place! We actually haven't gone there as group in a while, so a rendezvous there is in order sometime soon.

Place is really good - when we lived in the area - that was our favorite, no doubts, - in fact we introduced the place to lots of friends since then. And most of them are regulars now. (Just don't order an omelet there ;) )
Since we moved to the other side of the city we haven't really been back much, so a meet up would be a good excuse to come back. I do miss their chocolate mousse mmmm

Best value for money in Russian Market for barang friendly food.

I simply don't get it. I've been about five times but only to appease friends. Chocolate mousse is the only saving grace.

I would be willing to bet my stamp collection that you haven't tried the lasagna!

Correct, because they prepare it with a fungus (mushroom) for some strange reason.
