it is the measurement of the distance between the center of each pupil.
you can do it yourself in the mirror.

dont use sharp calipers.

What brand of calipers do you suggest. I really like Sharp products.

On a serious side. Went to the optometrist next to Orange Mkt. Had an eye exam by a young lad who was clueless as how to use the equipment.
Then proceeded to try & sell me the Crizal Physio lenses.
Same as the ones in current script.
For $1,035.00 fukin dollhairs!!!!!!
These are top of the line in lenses.
The same ones I paid $460.00 for in Florida.
What a rip of joint!

I am very far sided with an astigmatism. My prescription is a hard one to full. Grand Optic on Norodom and 162 I think, has worked for the last ten years. I get poly carb lenses that are thinner than you can get in the usa and they work just fine. My optician in the USA is jealous every time he looks at my lenses. It does take about a month because the lenses are ordered from Singapore. Grand Optic has served me well.
