End of an Era - Burger King now open on Riverside

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

Today, I had a burger at Burger King for the first time. I actually don't like it and also way too expensive. The one I had in front of pontoon tastes much better.

Cue APLE from stage right; brandishing forms to sign for every expat promising not to be left handed and have detached earlobes...

This nonsense looks like complete non-science to me.

Yes, should have been on Vlad's left-wing paedo thread. :-) Never mind, it's as rational as anything else associated with Burger King - I blame the mad cow.

I never eat fast food so Burger King and other multi-national chains coming here does nothing for me but make me rue globalization and the ever-increasing power these major brands have around the world.

Now if we can get a Panera Bread in PP, I will be quite content.

Or real French bread. I wonder if they ever had such a thing in Cambodia. You now, the chewy crisp baguettes. And where has all that excellent street coffee gone? Hardly Carte Noir is it. I guess we have to invent it all again with US fast food chains doing the honors this time ( or copies of them).

Absolutely agree, but I don't see how a fast food chain could possibly change that situation.
