10 Foreigners @ Queenco Casino SHV Detained (No Work Permit)

Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

Trying to parse a Cambodian newspaper article, no matter how good the translation,is pointless. Cambodian newspapers are, at best, an amateur joke. And the police don't give accurate info anyway, and even when they do, they are not known for their precision. My guess is the only thing we probably actually know is that these guys were arrested, there is some connection to Queenco, and the reason given for their arrest will probably have something to do with immigration law, maybe.

Christian Toth wrote:Firstly on DAP News writes that a fine was given in the amount of 3,500,000 riel for this issue, not that they were arrested.
Quote from DAP: "៧នាក់ ត្រូវពិន័យ សរុប៣,៥០០,០០០ រៀល"

Secondly, the Ireland national was caught on an expired visa and it is mentioned that the capture was made in the same afternoon, not at the same place.

Thirdly, on the article writes that in the casino were from Philippines, Uzbekistan, Romania and Israel. In the New Dream, French and on expired visa, Ireland.

So... Why I say that the information given is fake... It doesn't match with the source article, from DAP... and it doesn't have confirmation from the place... and ....

I am not whining... just pointing the obvious.
At Last, thanks very much CT. I hope you post more regularly from now on.
