Not so fast Lexus. I found thisBitte_Kein_Lexus wrote:Haha, well I set myself up for that. I guess I'll just dump it. My NGO comment was tongue-in-cheek, but I do remember seeing government signs about battery disposal before (if I remember correctly, in the countryside of all places). I just feel that local landfills don't need any more items like that than they already have, though I suppose my laptop battery is not exactly the most toxic thing there. Carry on.
From here: https://cambodia.usembassy.gov/green_tra ... asure.htmlThe Anana computer store in Phnom Penh center has a recycling bin for batteries.

Seriously though. I would put it in one of the recycling bins throughout the city. This one looks like it's for plastics and Styrofoam:

And then it's set on fire, it just screams proper disposal.General Mackevili wrote:Seriously though. I would put it in one of the recycling bins throughout the city. This one looks like it's for plastics and Styrofoam:

Quite like the tyre fixers near Murray's that used to torch unwanted rubber at the end of each day. Great way to enhance sunset over Bodge.
Bodge: This ain't Kansas, and the neighbours ate Toto!

Re: Disposing of batteries?
FYI I dropped it off at Anana the other day. They were totally surprised and confused when I asked about battery disposal. One guy told me they didn't take them until eventually a woman showed up and semi-reluctantly accepted it. I'm fairly certain my battery will end up in the regular trash anyways, but I guess my conscience is clear for trying, haha. Oh well... I wonder how the US Embassy got that info.
