If you are interested in Stalingrad you should watch Enemy at the Gates ---- brilliant. Another Russian themed movie is "The Beast" about the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan.Bring Back Buck wrote:vladimir wrote:If you like history...
Not a bad movie, however I think it is a stretch to refer to it anything other than fiction.
If this movie depicts history then Buck Rogers is an accurate depiction of 1987.
Stalingrad the movie is a fictional love story set against the back drop of one of the fiercest battles ever fought.
I was disappointed that it didn't actually provide too much insight into one of greatest examples of human endurance - from the perspective of both the German (and their axis friends) and the Russkies.

I missed it when it came out (2010) but I just watched Shutter Island with Leonardo DiCaprio and Ben Kingsley. Good performances and a few interesting plot twists.

I enjoyed that movie. Most of Leonardo's films are well done.Soi Dog wrote:I missed it when it came out (2010) but I just watched Shutter Island with Leonardo DiCaprio and Ben Kingsley. Good performances and a few interesting plot twists.

I enjoyed this, not sure why:
This was great, but a bit dodgy with topics in front of the kids:

Just watched Hercules at the new cinema at Aeon, not too bad. Keen to check out a film in their 4d theatre, afraid the missus might get motion sickness though!
