Sending a package to Cambodia

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. We tried to get a PO box a while back and were smilingly told 'not available, try again later' - anyone know if there's a waiting list system at the GPO?

I just received two box's from American (to me in Snooky.) They were 15"x15"x20". Sent Priority Mail International with tracking all the way. They took about 10 days US to Cambo/Snooky. Put "personal affects" and they breaze through customs. A bit expensive but it gets here and doesn't disappear. The local PO used to put my box's in the back room and say not here until I started taking a print out of the tracking site with me. I now have them trained and when I walk through the door they are usually saying "Sir! Sir! Box here." BTW/ One box's had a computer in it. Once the box gets to the airport in PP from the US the next day at 2pm its in the PO in Snooky. Well worth the money.

You know that USPS is the United States Postal Service, right? They don't have offices here. Your parcel is probably with EMS.

I was told the same several years ago and one came up a few weeks later. I have kept mine ever since, although i never used it, I still didn't trust the post, it was more for correspondence sake.. I just pay the annual fee, and intend to use it for aliexpress small items.

On a side note, I have sent documents from UK using DHL. It took 10 days to get to Cambodia, but they delivered as soon as they got it, to my house 11km out of PP

Always make sure your tel number is on anything sent to you

Yes, on new items over $50 they charge 60%. But it seems this only applies to large packages. $150 hard drive, no problem. $112 steam cleaner (declared as $60) and they whacked me with $38 in tax/duty. I could have probably bought it at Aeon cheaper in the end.
