BugZone: Nothing's perfect...

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

At the bottom of this page https://cambodiaexpatsonline.com/index.php where it says Who is Online, there are two links.
One for Cambodia Expat Administators https://cambodiaexpatsonline.com/memberl ... =group&g=5
and one for Cambodia Expat Global Moderators https://cambodiaexpatsonline.com/memberl ... =group&g=4

check the formatting on the Admin page as compared to the Mods page.
It's keeping me awake at night worrying about this, so if you could do something to help my insomnia, I'd appreciate it.

hahaha, there is no way to promote/demote leaders in those system groups. admins does it automatic with the first user account. moderators automatic with no group leader.

in admins it's 2 separate tables, leaders and members, each formatted differently.

in moderators it's only 1 table.

Probably, but then you'd sleep well at night and I can't have that on my conscience... ;-)

Kidding. I could do the HTML, but then I run into breaking the HTML of it's standard "mold" which the software looks at when making modifications. Once you do that the mods start having to be done manually, which takes hours instead of minutes.

small, but annoying every single time. After I log in, redirect me to some desired landing page. The forum index, perhaps? After I make a post whether it be starting a new thread or a simple reply, redirect me back to the created thread/post.

Thanks

Amen to both. We'll have to wait for The Dragon to answer...

The problem here is it's not the same for everyone and every situation.
Login: If I'm logged out and click "Reply" to something, it redirects to the login screen... then when you log in it should take you back to making a reply, not the index. If I'm just logging in when I arrive it probably should... or whatever page I was just on. It does this automatically after some time, but leaves you on that page long enough to select another course of action if you so choose... because not everyone will want the same thing as everyone else.

Posting: Same as above... for example, if it's a really big post I sometimes want to go to see it after I post it to give it one more look. Some people never do this. If it's just a 1 liner comment I just want to go back to that forum, others may still want to reread their comment in the thread. If it was the last thing in that forum I wanted to comment on or read I want to go back to the index to move on to the next forum, others may want to check back to see if a previous post in that forum had been commented on while they were posting. Again, after a while it does take you somewhere automatically, but gives enough time (10 seconds i think) for someone else to make a different choice than the one you would have made. Like what Quality suggested, I'd HATE if it forced me to my post each time I made one. Generally I use Preview to make sure it's good, then once posted I want to move on to the next thread/forum. Generally why would I want to see what I just posted... again?

The big issue is everyone assuming everyone else wants the same thing they want after an action... which is generally not true. By giving choices we're not forcing anyone down a navigation path they don't want to take.

I'd just guess that many people end up wanting to go back to the same thread. I ONLY use the preview function if it's really long, creating a new thread, or if I have a lot of quotes that I think I likely fucked up.

Either way, can the time be reduced? 10 seconds is a long time to sit around and decide what you want to do next.
