I'd drink at your pub. You'd possibly even coax me into a bit of bartending.frank lee bent wrote:Well you are a gentleman and a scholar now that you have told me what I want to hear!

Oh really now, faith ye''d be the man ta strike fear into recalcitrants!
I have heard a deal of moaning over 3 years by TTP residents that there is no real local there.

Anybody know what this town house is going to be?

The foreign owner has renovated it outside in a Italian renaissance/Baroque kinda style with pillars and stucco features, put in a bar area, renovated indoors too. They've been working on it for months (6/7/8) and spent a lot of money.
It's looked finished for a long time to me, but no sign of it opening.
I'd guess it's going to be an Italian pizza restaurant modelled on Luigui's.
Anybody know?

I agree...but I reckon you'd need to go a little bigger than a hole in the wall like Quealy's, enough room for a pool table at least.StroppyChops wrote:I think any reasonably run pub in TTP would be a goldmine on the proviso that the owner was regularly behind the bar.

Seriously, I'd pull beers. Can you think of a better place for a chaplain to be?frank lee bent wrote:Oh really now, faith ye''d be the man ta strike fear into recalcitrants!

Yeah, there is definitely a market but if you're going to do it make it a pub (not a bar, and definitely not a girlie bar) and make it soon.

Cheers. Thought so.
Be interesting to see how it does there. Wonder if that street/area will become like the area around Luigui's #1.

Agreed - we go to Quealys to see Jess, but it's gotta be hard to turn a dollar with limited stools. Had the best sausages and mash of my life there on Wednesday night, it was so good I did it again a little later in the night. Kept the good old boys from TOF amused for a while.PSD-Kiwi wrote:I agree...but I reckon you'd need to go a little bigger than a hole in the wall like Quealy's, enough room for a pool table at least.StroppyChops wrote:I think any reasonably run pub in TTP would be a goldmine on the proviso that the owner was regularly behind the bar.

point taken about room for a pool table.

my thinking exactly.
i am temperamentally unsuited to owning girl bars.
Simple home style food not too expensive. cheap in fact.
The food Jess turns out is actually what got me thinking on these lines.
Charcoal grill, really decent brekkie without those thai chicken skin sausages. real bacon- not the yankee stuff.
Bit of BBQ pulled pork. I mean the real kind- not the crockpot style.
