What is Your Favorite Place in Cambodia?

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

What is Your Favorite Place in Cambodia?

Post by General Mackevili »

I know that typically people have to consider their job when thinking about where they want to live. I'm not talking about that. And even visiting certain parts of Cambodia you have to consider travel time, etc.

But, if you could magically be ANYWHERE in Cambodia when you wanted, what is your absolute favorite spot?

I live in Phnom Penh, which I love, but if I could magically be in my favorite place right now, or at any time I wanted, I'd choose Koh Rong. I'd transport there right now if I could. Well, after I finish dinner.

What about you? Where is your favorite spot in Cambodia?

I like sitting by the river in Kampot. Trouble is, after you've done it for a while, what the heck are you going to do then?

I could not hold on any longer. I knew that one day I would just have to register here to tell everyone about my fav spot, infact I go there every day cause it make me feel sooo good.

Cambodia,,,, Don't fall in love with her.
Like the spoilt child she is, she will not be happy till she destroys herself from within and breaks your heart.

Sorry Gen Mac, is there a rule about derailing threads?

Ok,if I could jump in my Tardis right now-ish, I wouldn't mind relaxing at Dara's Shack, Ochheuteal Beach.

How's that?

Blissed out on the river in Kratie. On a long-boat, engine off, drifting, frolicking irrawaddy dolphins all about, with a sunset that defies words.

Wasn't there some talk of those things being nearly extinct not so long ago?
