Things to do in Phnom Penh

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

Things to do in Phnom Penh

Post by Jamie_Lambo »

I'm popping back up to PP tomorrow to do a week of boxing, :x
just looking for some interesting things i could kill my spare time with, i'm not really asking for the obvious touristy things like S-21/Killing fields, temples, Shooting, Markets(any) as ive been to PP hundreds of times etc..

For example i'll probs end up going and watching a movie at the cinema at some point (been a few times before), just looking for something interesting to do that some of you PP expats get up to in your spare time or any recommendations of things to do or places to check out that i may or may not have done already..

Also interested in any recommended massage parlors that will help after a hard nights training :P

Just thought id post it here as it might interest others

i'll also be popping out the odd night for a few glasses if anyone on here fancies a cold one

There's plenty to do in and around PP, here's just a few examples;

- Join in a pick-up game of volleyball/football/touch rugby
- go for a ride and explore across the River at Koh Dach (Silk Island)
- Ice skating, rock-climbing (climbing wall), laser tag at Kids City
- Go for a run and drink beer with the Hash House Harriers
- Go-karting out near the airport
- Visit Oudong
- Throw money away at NagaWorld
- Picnic/fish/swim at Tonle Bati, visit the nearby ancient temples Ta Prohm and Yeay Peau
- Phnom Tamau Zoo/wildlife rescue centre
- Checkout all the graffiti as part of the Cambodian Urban Art Festival which is currently going on
- Bar crawl/drink
- Plenty of swimming pools if you feel like going for a swim
