Tree monkeys
The tree monkeys are at it again..... I don't know why they don't just cut the trees off at ground level instead of trying to make every tree look like a coconut tree.
These are the real tasty bananas the monkeys are after.

Re: Tree monkeys
Part of the reason they do this is the rainy season approaching.

Re: Tree monkeys
Yup, the trees they trim have very brittle branches which overhang roads in many cases, a few people have been killed/injured by falling branches.
In this particular area, the municipality shows uncharacteristic planning.
now, can someone mention the roads to them?

Re: Tree monkeys
They do seem to go a bit overboard with the "trimming" and end up with horrible looking stumps. However, in their defense, the trees do seem to recover rapidly.
Silence, exile, and cunning.

Re: Tree monkeys
Its a form of pollarding ...It is sometimes the only way you can have trees in the built environment for safety reason, easy of management by having systematic pruning routine and lower cost....no need to survey the health of trees...you see this form of management in continental Europe ...also used in the country side for animal fodder after cutting the green matter is feed to farm animals...
I was born with nothing , and I still have most of it left.
