Apsara mulls hike for Angkor Wat tickets.

Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

From an independent traveller viewpoint I think the price is about right when you factor in the cost of transport and a guide into the trip. Then you are looking at around the $40-60 for the near ones and a bit more for the far ones. If you are there for the month I think the 7 day pass at $60 is good value. A yearly pass would seem a good idea for a couple of hundred.

Reportedly Sokha makes tens of millions of dollars off of Angkor Wat, but puts next to nothing back into the infrastructure. Sounds like greed to me. Milk those tourists for all they have! Love the shitty restaurants and crappy toilets right by the main temple.

this my 3rd year in cambodia and ive only managed about 3 hours in the angkor wat temples, not really a tourist attraction kind of guy, was even more gutted that my camera wiped the few hundred photos i took from my memory card!! said ill have to go again some time, if the prices go up that would be less likely, its not cheap as it is when you add on the tuk tuk prices etc. and im i heck going on a pushbike! :P

yeah my screen had broken in koh samui when it dropped on the floor, been taking photos for months as pure guesswork and regularly backing the photos up on facebook, but when i was going through laos and cambodia the internet cafes were few and far between and when i finally got round to doing it i found i must have accidently wiped 2months worth of photos from the 4000islands, siem reap, angkor wat, s-21 museum and sihanoukville and a few bits in between, was gutted!

A proportion (probably a lot less than what is due) of the revenue raised goes to Apsara Authority who manage the temples.
Silence, exile, and cunning.
