The Things We Won’t Say About Race That Are True

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

Anchor Pii and Soi Dog. You guys are so well-informed about Cambodian. Thanks for this.

If this is so, how come so many Black Americans and West Indians are great sprinters ?
You would have to be daft to breed slaves so they can run away faster. :dragonchase:

But I would agree that Khmer people are genetically attracted to hammocks. I think I may have some Khmer blood in me somewhere, because when I see an empty hammock, I want to go and stretch out in it.
Do US Khmers also behave like this ?

They bred for health, size, & strength, not speed you knucklehead. Besides, the man who cannot be run down by dogs & men on horseback has yet to be born.

One thing I've come to realise is that many Khmer seem to suffer from rapidly falling blood sugar levels, possibly related to poor diet. The guys that work with us need to eat almost constantly - if they eat their normal diet, but only at the times that we (Mrs S and I) stop for a meal, they don't get through the working day. "I did not eat breakfast yet" normally means that no work will occur until that is rectified, and yet it doesn't seem to be a passive/aggressive thing.
Bodge: This ain't Kansas, and the neighbours ate Toto!
