Smoking
Smoking
Not that kind of smoking. Just built a smoker and am wondering what sort of local woods/plants/whatever can be used for smoking fish and meat. Coconut husk is the best idea I can think of, anything else?

Yeah, avoid mango. What about apple wood? Maybe some comes in from Vietnam?

Re: Smoking
I think I would try using some of the teas some interesting flavors and cheap too but may be too strong on there own.

Re: Smoking
That sounds interesting, I think I've had tea-smoked duck (!) before. I'm just worried because I have no idea what's toxic when it comes to smoking. Will have to research further.
Re: Smoking
I use the hard wood that the charcoal vendors sell. I used to use rice husks................but they burn so quick, you have to reload every twenty minutes.
